I thought it was worth to include this video from my friends Tapioca & Filmes.
Street Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro. Performing Orquestra Voadora in Women’s International Day, 8th March 2011.
I made a small collection of messages from businesses I found in the streets of Rio. It surprises me the fact that how different is their language for promoting themselves. Have a look at this:
Para você se sentir bem // For you to feel good. DRUGSTORE DROGASMIL
Tudo para você gostar da gente // Everything for you to like us. SUPERMARKET ZONA SUL
Energia que dá gosto // Energy that gives pleasure. MILK CHOCOLATE NESTLÉ
I constantly hear the words, gostar, sentir, curtir, adorar, amar… In Europe, at least in The Netherlands, this wouldn’t be serious. So it seems brazilians look at life in a more joyful way!
Well, this two could lead to many misunderstandings for spanish speakers:
DRUGSTORE DROGA RAIA
DRUGSTORE DROGA LIFE
